Currently on the Violin Faculty at Cleveland State University, Paula Sastre made her solo debut at the age of 13, performing Sarasate in a concert broadcast on Spanish national television. Since then, she has appeared in major venues across Europe and the United States, including the Musikverein in Vienna, Auditorio Nacional and Teatro Real in Madrid, Liszt Academy in Budapest, Bösendorfer-Saal in Salzburg, Reduta Hall in Bratislava, and Severance Hall in Cleveland.

Her accomplishments include awards in violin and piano at prestigious national and international competitions, with additional support from grants by the AIE Society of Artists and scholarships from the Community of Madrid and the Albéniz Foundation. In 2019, she was awarded the Juventudes Musicales de Madrid Scholarship, presented by HM Queen Sofía of Spain.

As a performer, she maintains an active presence as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, collaborating with conductors including András Schiff, Gustavo Dudamel, Péter Eötvös, Jeannette Sorrell, Leonard Slatkin, and JoAnn Falletta, among others. She appears regularly with the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, and CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra, and has also performed with historical performance ensembles such as the Société Générale Historical Performance Camerata and the Viesgo Baroque Camerata.

She served as concertmaster of the Cleveland Women’s Orchestra during the 2025–2026 season. In the 2026–2027 season, she will be an Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and a substitute musician with the New World Symphony in Miami.

She began her musical training at the piano and remains an active pianist, earning her Professional Diploma at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid with Javier Negrín, as well as completing a minor at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Gerardo Teisonniere, and working with Alexander Kandelaki, Vadim Gladkov, and Elisabeth Jaszauty.

As an educator, she is a Suzuki Association of the Americas certified teacher (Books 1–6) and has taught at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland as part of the TOP Orchestra Program. She has also led outreach and educational projects in partnership with organizations including the Regional Government of Madrid, Fundación Gmp, Asociación Cultural Cristóbal de Morales, and Fundación Telefónica.

She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Michigan State University under Dmitri Berlinsky, after previous studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Ilya Kaler and at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Zakhar Bron.
